Building capstone research programmes

PARC nurtures the building of research programmes that model transformed partnership working and provide a basis for continued learning. 

Beginning with the creation of forums for focused Africa-led research agenda-setting and concept formulation, PARC facilitates the identification of potential funding sources and Africa-led consortia; and supports the design of collaborative approaches.

Capstone programmes are being developed in four broad areas that represent fields of concern and interest in the continent and relevant clusters of expertise within the University of Bristol:

• Care systems and economies
• Sexual and gender-based violence
• Water management, sanitation and hygiene
• Climate change

These are interdisciplinary programmes of research and policy engagement that are regional in scope. Additional capstone programmes may emerge in time, including from Africa-led projects funded through the PARC Partnerships Fund.
