Developing Impact in Africa-Facing Partnerships: Workshop 1

2 May @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm UTC+0

Two african academics studying plants intently.

As part of a project to find the best ways of reviewing the University’s Africa-facing collaborations, we are holding the first of two hybrid workshops to gather learning from a range of research partners.

With a new database of University of Bristol (UoB) projects that are Africa-facing, and looking specifically at the CONNECTED and TESF networks, we will bring together UoB researchers and our Africa-based research partners for this event.

We will invite participants to contribute to our review methods and to help us draft the first iteration of a toolkit that aims to support UoB researchers in equitable and transformative partnership working. The workshop will output an initial content structure for the toolkit.

This year-long project ultimately aims to help benchmark future University of Bristol collaborations in line with the Africa Charter.

The next phase involves fleshing out the content of the toolkit and other training and information resources that researchers tell us are needed, and we plan to present the next iteration of the draft toolkit in our second hybrid workshop in October.
